How to install?
Coating a plinth has never been easier. Familiarize yourself with the installation instructions and install additional insulation and cladding boards in just one day without any previous experience.
Two easy installation methods
With Amperla Thermo insulation and cladding board, you can add value to your home easily and quickly. Choose the installation method that suits you!
- Installation with mortar
- Installation with PU foam glue
This is how you install Amperla Thermo plinth panels!
Before installing
- Remove the soil from the base of the plinth up to the frost insulation.
- Remove loose dirt and impurities from the surface of the plinth. Also remove unevenness and old paint.
With Mortar
- Fixing mortar is used to fasten the board, which you can order from the online store with the boards. The consumption of mortar in the 0.60 cm high Amperla Thermo attachment is about 4-5 plates/25 kg bag.
- Follow the instructions given by the mortar manufacturer, e.g. mixing, shrinkage and operating temperature.
- Apply the mortar with a toothpick from the bottom up. We recommend that the tooth gap of the spatula is 8-10 mm. In this way, possible moisture can escape along the "mortar tracks". To achieve good adhesion, it is recommended to spread the fixing mortar thinly on the back side of the board as well.
- Installation of the board is started from the shadow side of the building, starting from the outer corner. After this, the installation proceeds with full plates.
- A gap of about 3-5 mm can be left between the boards, which is filled after installation with an adhesive joint compound suitable for jointing, about 0.3 cm away from the grain surface of the board. Installation sand is pressed into the wet adhesive sealant, making the seam almost invisible.
- Let the mortar dry and support the boards well while the mortar dries.
- Ready!
With PU-foam glue
- For installation, use PU foam glue, which you can order from our online store with the sheets.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions during installation, e.g. operating temperature.
- Extrude the foam adhesive every 10-15 cm vertically on the back surface of the board. The installation of the foam adhesive is easiest when the board is against the ground.
- Installation of the board is started from the shadow side of the building, starting from the outer corner. After this, the installation proceeds with full plates.
- The boards are installed either tightly in the butt seam or a 3-5 mm gap is left between the boards.
- Let the foam glue dry. Support the boards carefully while drying.
- After installation, the gaps between the boards are filled with adhesive and sealing compound approximately 3mm from the surface of the board. Crushed stone is pressed into the wet adhesive and sealing compound, making the seam finished.
- Ready!
Start the order by measuring the plinth
Measure & buy online
Start ordering Amperla Thermo by measuring the height of the plinth. After that, order the boards, corner pieces and glue/mortar that suit you from the sokkelieriste.com online store.
Order arrives
Full-length boards are delivered directly to your yard. Protect the discs until installation. As preliminary preparations, dig the plinth bare up to the frost insulation and remove the dirt from its surface.
INSTALL
You can install the boards with mortar or foam glue. Apply mortar or foam adhesive to the surface of the insulation board and press the board into the plinth. Install the corner pieces first, then the full-length boards.
FINISH THE SEAMS
The boards are supported on the plinth while the mortar dries. Finally, the seams of the boards are finished with glue and stone grit. You get stone grit at the end of the store when you order the records!
